I am a Korean-American, born and raised here in Maryland. I have no animosity to the Japanese general population at all. My utter distaste, not hatred (it will give them too much credit), lies with these people:

It makes me sick to see people like GBevers condone the intitiation of the brutal Japanese occupation in Korea. Hirobumi got what was coming for him. His veil of lies/deception that were indicative of prevailing policy in his days continue to blind people, and ashamingly, some misguided Korean "historians".

Just who are these "historians" GBever? Are these historians these so called apologetics? Sugarcoating the Holocaust come to mind? Oh, if Hitler wasn't beaten up in his youth or if he was allowed to enter art school in Vienna, then 6 million Jews would not have died? Don't make me laugh.

Do not tell me that peopl have not been beaten as a child, and not lived to vehemently resent in the future? You seemed shocked that Koreans are resentful of the past. Take a good look at yourselves before you shout words off your ivory towers, which only makes me laugh even harder.

Yes, Korea needs to wakeup. Korea was weak then. It is still weak now, in my opinion. They need to stop attacking bluntly into the general Japanese psyche. What they need are target-specific attacks to take-out the perpetrators of the deception and old war criminals that are still free to this day.

The Japanese people who support the anti-Korean wave can shove these comic books up their ass. This comic is highly disappointing to me, because I thought that the Japanese people would know better.

I really respect those teachers who intentionally did not stand up when Kimigayo was playing. They felt strongly that Japan needs changing. They knew that Japan should never go down the path of militarization, invasion of other countries and hegemony in the region.

Yet, they were fired and the rest of Japan just keeps silent. What does this tell you? The Japanese wants to do it all over again.

The fact is that those teachers are the ones who want to go war.
They say they are anti-war but they are pro-terrorism.
They belong to far-left teachers union ζ??ζ?™??? which worships kim jong il.
In their terms,
-American nukes are dirty but North Korean nukes are clean.
-Racism against Koreans is a crime but they discriminate Americans.
(A teacher was arrested for assaulting half american kid)

The teachers visit Chosen Soren frequently so please be careful with what they are doing.
They have dark side.

I totally agree that anti-Japanese sentiment in the school system needs to be scrapped in favor of a more objective accounting of the half century or so prior to the end of the occupation. But the views Shakuhachi is espousing are just as bad in the opposite direction. People like him are part of the problem, not the solution.

BTW, this is most certainly not in response to Chewie's request, but just a quickie translation of the J-text above, for the curious:

Watoro said:

As for the recognition of history, the resolution of the Takeshima/Dokdo issue is one direction. Based on a reasonable fisheries agreement, ultimately Japan can recognize Korea?€™s territorial claims, aside from that there are no other choices. Japan?€™s insistent claim of territorial possession is being used as a ?€œcard,?€? and I think this is the natural choice. Only idiotic right wing people really want to recover these useless rocks. This ?€œcard?€? is to be used in the appropriate situation, and the attainment of the interests of the people of both countries is desired. As far as recognition of history, I am not really knowledgeable, though either side has presented data like this. The Korean side has become inflamed, and the Takeshima/Dokdo fever is clearly nonsense. Especially, President Roh appears to be using it to maintain his administration, and it's irritating. This asshole, has invalidated the Korea Japan relationship. I wonder if this jerk should resign first.

Chewbaccahachi said:

I?€™m sure many Japanese feel the same way. However, it is not an issue simply of territory. The resolution of the Takeshima problem lies fundamentally in Korean?€™s refusal to cease their "long live our country" propaganda and anti-Japanese education and so there is no expectation that the problems in the Japan Korea relationship basic problems will cease. Even now though there is a fisheries agreement, the Korean side does not comply. Based on the 1965 Basic Treaty, when disputes arise, such disputes should be resolved through negotiation, however, Korea contends that it is Korean territory under international law, but does not engage in negotiations. I?€™m sure you?€™re aware of the above, and so concluding a new agreement is futile. Koreans have a very complicated tribal nature.

Things I?€™m talking about? Not that good way.
I thought you had plenty of subjects on ugly Koreans and there is no need for me to offer every word for talking.

Translation please, someone.
