Mongolians to join up with Zaytun Division

Guess who’ll be working together to guard a UN aid building in Arbil:

Mongolian soldiers are to provide security alongside South Korean soldiers for officials working in a UN building to be built near South Korea’s base camp in Iraq, U.S. military sources said yesterday. The Mongolian soldiers are expected to guard the officials, while South Korean forces will guard the outer perimeter.

The Mongolians will be stationed inside the Korean “Zaytun” base for security purposes. Construction of the UN building will be completed at the end of September.

Yes, seriously, Kushibo.. how come nobody mentions the fact, it’s the Korean government that is hamstringing the unit, to avoid casualty and thereby avoiding a political fallout? Instead it’s fashionable to paint the Koreans as cowards hiding out in the desert.

Wow in charge of the outer perimeter. Sounds like South Korea will have to hire more Kurds in order to have an outer outer perimeter protecting the Korean outer perimeter. Good to see SK doing something. Good to see the UN getting back in Iraq after they pulled everyone out when their headquarters was struck by terrorists-uhhhh insurgents.

I think it’s human nature to gloss over the details regardless of political affiliation.
