The first one is so charming!
I shook my head at that second one. It reminds me of those tourists in parts of China that can dress up in 1948-style PLA uniforms so as to take pictures, unless these are really caucasians serving in the PLA.
I get the first one, but what is going on in the second? I don’t get what is funny.
The uniforms are not PLA issue, those are tourists/teachers.
it’s interesting how on the page with the actual pictures one of the comments is about the guys in the uniforms being fresh-out-of-school English teachers. i’m guessing that to mean fresh from university, not fresh from English class. my own experience is totally different. when i had just finished my undergrad degree, i was all about other people’s cultures and being thoughtful. it was only after a few years of always hearing the phrase “cultural differences” just before bad new (we can fix your toilet, but not until next friday; do you really need a fridge?; don’t worry, all laundry machines shoot water from the bottom; that student is older than you, that’s why you’re wrong) that i began to think things like, “hey, getting dressed up in another country’s uniform like it’s halloween IS funny.”
