Cheong Wa Dae forms NK human rights team?

Cheong Wa Dae has apparently formed a special task force charged with getting a precise understanding of the human rights situation in North Korea:

One government official said, “As the North Korea human rights issue has emerged as one of top agendas in the international community, an increasing number of scholars and civic right activists are voicing their views that the government can no longer turn a blind eye to the issue,” adding, “So the government created a task force team based on the recognition that the government can no longer take a passive stance on the North Korea human rights issue.”

This will undoubtedly be interesting.

There is no reason why Sunshine Policy cannot co-exist with sincere, humane, and helpful treatment of North Koreans who have escaped the DPRK and are holed up in the PRC for fear the Chinese authorities, acting on orders from the leadership of Everyone’s Economic Partner?, will round them up and send them back to North Korea where they will be imprisoned, tortured, and possibly killed.
