Kushibo, I understand your point of view, and yes, in some sense everything you’ve written could be construed as constructive, but quite frankly, a lot of it came across as just rather curmudgeonly.

I think if one reviews what I wrote about him Shelton’s stuff, I have been very constructive in my criticisms. If he toggles between cockiness and defensiveness, that is something he had long before he came here.

And he is not merely getting started as a writer. He has had his own blog for some time.

just because marmot’s a great writer and smart kid on the block doesn’t necessarily mean he knows how to pick writers. with all the flack shelton’s gotten he should have been pulled already and someone else given a chance. but hey, not my blog.
