The Mouse That Roared

I can just see the DPRK politburo meeting now:

“I know,” Mr. Double Plus Good says to Kim Jong-Il, “Let’s admit that we’re making even MORE nuclear wepeans! Ahssa! That’ll show those Miguk capitalist running dogs who’s running the show in these parts!”

BOB WOODRUFF: Do you have a nuclear bomb?

KIM GYE GWAN: We do have.

WOODRUFF: How many do you have?

GWAN: I should say that we have enough nuclear bombs to defend against a U.S. attack. As for specifically how many we have, that is a secret.

WOODRUFF: Are you building more bombs now?

GWAN: Yes.

The DPRK is really starting to remind me of that movie, The Mouse That Roared, about the itty-bitty little European country that declares war on the United States simply for the post-war development money.

I mean, sheesh.

WOODRUFF: It’s not aimed there, but does it have the capability of reaching there?

GWAN: We don’t have any intention at all of attacking the U.S. So you can’t even speculate about that kind of thing.

WOODRUFF: Do have the ability to put a nuclear warhead on your long range missiles?

GWAN: I want you to know that our scientists have the knowledge, comparable to other scientists around the world.

WOODRUFF: Is that a yes or a no?

GWAN: You can take it as you like.

Well, that statement certianly puts me at ease.

    Some things just leave me speechless. Honestly, I’d try to uster a comment but by the time I thought of something i’m sure the DPRK would be changing their tune.

    It’s Python-ic (Monty) the way these announcements keep coming out. My favorite so far, “Since he called KJI ‘Mister’, The North will continue the dialog.” I keep imagining Basil Fawlty as the negotiator for the SK/USA in all scenarios.
