I wonder if “U.S. to Send Stealth Bombers to Korea” and “U.S. Suspends Search for GI Remains in North Korea” are somewhat related? Should we start packing?

    Heh.

Getting baack to the post #1. That is so disgusting, it makes me mad as hell. What the hell was the reason for that shop to ban native Filiponos in their own country? Those Korean owners should have been arrested and deported. Koreans really a need a hard lesson on racism and discrimination into shame. And that’s why I’m going to forward this news story coming out of Philipines to Korean and non-Korean medias. “Globalism”, “Hub of Northeast Asia”, are all the rage slogans. But look at the results of the kinds of education that are taught in Korea. The only important things are money, Korea, high scores, Korea, money, winning, and finally, money plus Korea.

Aren’t the NK remains just a way for NK to milk millions of dollars out of the US by “finding” remains they already found?

Taking away this gravy train is probably a good pre-negotiation tactic.

If you have any influence on what articles the Chosun chooses to translate and put on its website, Marmot, I’d argue that most of us want to see political, North Korea and foreign policy news or cultural and social articles written in an informative way. These daily Chosun cheerleading articles about (pick the subject, person or product) are simply not journalism and make it impossible to raise the low opinion of the Korean media held by outsiders.

That’s why I don’t go to Koreatown (#1, #6). Kimbob, I also forwarded this story to a Korean Portal media. But I bet that they wouldn’t pick up this… Let’s see what happens.

Regarding photo of Miss Korea, non-English Korean media chose her biniki photo over traditional dress one. English media seems more conservative than Korean one…

Referring to the first one, I’ve been in bars in Korea that have kept out Koreans. The Nash and just about every bar in Itaewon used to do it (and all the clubs barred foreigners). Korean guys seem more able to handle us talking to “their women” nowadays.
