Ah, a new theme!

Your blog is pretty much the central clearing house for general-interest, English-language discussions of all things Korean. Thanks for all your hard work in keeping it interesting.

But I think I'll stick with the Boseong tea green....

I visited Gap-sa (close to Kongju) on Buddha's Birthday. It was very nice, the free food was wonderful and saw a rather rare bird by the temple (?Œ”??‰?¡°). I'm not sure if it is common elsewhere but they also had this "sam-gak" display of three older Korean deities (Chil-seong, San-shin, Dok-seong) incorporated into one shrine at the temple. I had not seen that before.

Korean Buddhist koan: What is the sound of one monk's hand holding an iced Starbucks Frapuccino(TM)? As somebody who grew up listening to Alan Watts on NPR (yes, I'm that old) and reading D.T. Suzuki, I find the state of Buddhism a little dismal. I've heard things are better outside Seoul--maybe someone can enlighten ;) me....
