Well, at least the hanbok is cute

Over at Oranckay’s you may have seen some of the fun for the kiddies the authorities up North have been providing recently. Well, the KCNA (via the Chosun Ilbo) gives us a bit more:

the light on the wall changes from left to right but the light on the poster remains the same. the poster’s perspective lines do not match the perspective.

What H T means is that Nora, noolji and Kushibo are much older. Its clearly a fake. But its true that those three kyopos do hate the USA. A better picture is of the three amigos, smiling while they bury a knife in the back of an evil yankee.

    Craig
The poster of George Bush on the wall has been inserted digitally into another photograph. I can tell immediately from the lighting and then scientifically from the perspective lines.

The other photo is dead give away. boy with a stick and the stick is blurred for “movement”, but not the entire stick, and considering the depth of field of the shot–if it’s real, it’s impossible for the object on the right to be that much more in focus.

Those kids seem a little too well fed for me to believe they are from the north. Not only that but they are dressed in a way that is colorful yet doesn’t seem to follow the NK fashion laws. If this were a propaganda photo shoot I would expect to see something showing the kids’ devotion to the great leader, a scarf, a button or even his portrait. Not only that but that looks like a nicely printed picture and far be it my place to doubt that our friends up north cant print a color picture (they can make an atom bomb right?) but it seems a little too good compared to what we normally see. I do see what hard and tiny is talking about, the shadow of the gun the boy has seems a little off. I know nothing about digitally enhanced photos but it seems suspicious to me.

Hmm… If what hardyandtiny wrote is true, the Korean media that posted the pictures are in for some trouble…
    Any experts on photography here?

    Haha
What trouble? Those are fakes for sure. It doesn’t matter. No one can get in trouble. I was certified as a photographer when I was in the US military…? I am definitely NOT an expert.

If you click the pic on my post you’ll see that the pic is attributed to “EPA” dateline Pyongyang.

Strange… I’d wondereda bout “EPA.” Never heard of such a wire service.

They do look manipulated to me, but I’m guessing they were manipulated in NK… whatever the case I doubt they originated in SK because of the way they landed in the media here. Would’ve had to have come along some sort of “official” route and therefore, being NK pics, would’ve had to have originated outside SK’s borders to get on the “imported news” track. But who the heck knows.

Agreed….certainly the boy with the stick is faked…I’m no expert either….but the foci seem wrong, as do the boy’s eyes. The other picture might be fake too…it looks weird, but I don’t see anything that proves it to be faked.

I guess the question would be….why? Why fake it? How does that help anybody? Maybe I’m not thinking deviously enough.

I’d say that it looks like they’re reenacting a NORK trial: the girl on the left identifies the accused, the kid in the middle passes judgement, and the one on the right executes the judge’s orders. Expedient law from the folks up north!

Of course, this is the same blog that gets commented on prolifically by none other than illustrious Admiral Yi Sun-Shin, the only 500-year-old I know who, despite his long years of retirement, is not above partying on the good ship Liancourt which, as he hath spoken, “rocks”! Actually, as you know I am a serious student of film, therefore I am in Hollywood camping out for “Star Wars”, and crushing the imperialist lies that it will be at the Arclight and not the Chinese. Also, I found I can make some extra bucks on Hollywood Boulevard, posing for pictures and breakdancing. Who knows, maybe I’ll make enough to finish the Ryugyong Hotel!

You can sample some spicy kimchi in Koreatown while you’re there too, since I gather northern kimchi is red-pepperless and therefore rather bland….

My secret? Lots and lots of ginseng. Plus excellent massages by young women from a village whose location I shan’t reveal.

Oh, and I’ve been cloned and recloned by that Dr. Hwang fellow several times. (It stings like hell the first time, but eventually you get used to it).

I’m in great shape, why just look at how steadily I wield that sword.

It could be the kindergarten classroom of a Canadian in Seoul. Or a Democrat. Maybe they’re playing pin the tail on the donkey.

It might also be a poster from a rhinoplasty clinic.

If this is a doctored photo, then where was it taken and what was originally in the poster’s position there?
