Marmot’s monthly bandwidth shortage

Apologies to readers who tried to access this blog during the weekend and were greeted with a “monthly bandwidth exceeded” message. Happens at the end of every month. I guess in a way, this is a good thing, but it’s still terribly annoying. Anyway, as inconsistent as my provider may be at times, at least I haven’t gotten screwed this badly. Luckily, Root has relocated here.

Marmot, exactly how much bandwidth do you have? It seems like everytime I log in I hit the bandwidth limit (an exaggeration, true, but common enough that I am not surprised when it happens).

My host has just upped their package to 10GB per day of traffic (not that I need that level yet, but you might). Is your current host anywhere near that? (You can check it out at PowWeb…and if you sign up using that link, I’ll get something for your trouble.). I’ve been happy with their service.

Ditto on Shakuhachi — if your provider can’t cut the mustard in bandwidth limits, get out to somewhere else. Is marmot.net et al taken?

I thought I got kicked out again and the bandwidth shortage was a ruse.

I guess money is important; with enough money Marmot can buy his own server with a back up system which can run 24/7. Without money, he and we have suffer through the hardship. Power and money, people, power and money!

Unless,of course, divine intervention happens. Some of you doubt this, but I do believe there is such a thing.

Hmmm, it seems Root has also been hacked. Sucks to be them. I’ll give them a good look once they’re back up.

I would like to take this opportunity to announce that I have successfully launched a Sunday morning pizza a distance of 200 km into the East Sea of Korea. Scientists of the DPRK have undertaken a speed work campaign to perfect two- and three-stage Sunday morning pizza, with which we will annihalate the imperialist aggressors! Nothing will stifle the Sunday morning pizza of the DPRK!!

You can see this as a positive thing. You have enough readers to have bandwidth problems. Imagine what it would be like to put all this time and effort into something that nobody reads!

Never mind the bandwidth. I repeatedly get my posts rejected by “spaminator” saying I’m trying to spam this blog!!!

    Dear Sir or Madam:

It has come to our attention that you have been inquiring about a marmot net.

If this is correct, we wish to know for what purposes you will be capturing marmots.

These burrowing rodents are beautiful creatues.Their short legs and bushy tails make them especially cute. Perhaps too cute, which is why the marmot is now threatened by people with marmot nets.

We implore you, dear sir or madam, to please leave the marmots alone.

    Sincerely,
    Hugh Mann
    Humane Society President
