jyc wrote "Just pointing out that ?€œ?±³?€? in ?€œbeikoku?€? does not sound the same as it does in ?€œ?ºœ?±³??????,?€? and that ?€œbeautiful country?€? might have been less desirable than ?€œrice country?€? at a certain time."

The 4 character way of writing America, ?ºœ?±³??????, reflects the style at the time of using Chinese characters for their phonetic value to write foreign names. Over the course of the 20th century this tradition completely vanished (except of course for Chinese or Korean, where the names are properly written using kanji)in favor of the purely alphabetic katakana script. The 'me' reading of the character ?±³ was a standard way of writing 'me' at the time, but since the 'bei' reading is considered the more standard reading of the character today, it has come to be read as 'bei' in ?±³??½(beikoku).

Incidentally, 'b' and 'm' have very often been confused in the history of the Japanese language- you can find any number of Japanese words in which b's and m's trade places. One surprising example is the well known word 'samurai.' This noun is derived from the archaic verb 'samurau' meaning something like 'to serve under a lord,' which according to my classical Japanese dictionary was actually pronounced 1000+ years ago as 'saburahu.'

Chongyon = Chosen Soren.
This is the book that I mentioned.
<a href="http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/4163583904/249-3772576-6353917" rel="nofollow">http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/4163583904/249-3772576-6353917</a>

Majority of Korean residents in Japan were migrated after WW2.
Especially, during Korean war and Jejudo massacre.

?€œthere are something like 700,000 ethnic Koreans living ?€?
It was 600,000 in 90s.
So 100,000 Koreans have migrated to Japan in a decade?
Why do they want to live in enemy country?
most of them are breeders, so i'm guessing they engaged in heterosexual intercourse, which in turn led to babies.

i've heard the same thing happens in your country, too.

Be careful.
Those threat messages are sometimes sent by Chongryon agents to make Koreans look victims.(According to the book written by former Chongryon agent)

marmot, the threat doesn't have to be logical for the threat to be real.

most people who would do harm don't run their thoughts by a blog as widely read as yours before they go off and do what they were going to do.
