kcbill06, there are several factors which are going to inflate the price of Ford products in Korea. One of the major reasons, for the Ford Mustang in particular, is the displacement. Cars over 2000cc are subject to 10% Special Excise Tax, 10% VAT, 30% of Special Excise Tax Education Tax (e.g. 3% of the value after calculating the cost including SET), 5% Registration Tax, and 20% Subway Bond Tax. Add to this the fact that you are importing in limited numbers, increasing shipping costs, and other problems associated with a limited presence in Korea. In addition, the people importing goods into Korea don't immediately adjust their prices based on shifts in the exchange rates. Most companies are probably still banking on a 1200won-$1 return by the time they actually get the profits out of Korea and back to the U.S. Hopefully, people will realize that the new exchange rate is stable and I can start taking advantage of my psychological pay raise to purchase cheaper U.S. goods (Like that ridiculously expenisve Apple Cinema Display!)

Fortunately the used car market in Korea is pretty good, it seems there's a stigma concerning purchasing used vehicle. You can get a pretty new Lexus IS200 with low mileage for 22-26,000,000.

But seriously, Dear Leader is ordering pizza tonight and would like to know what goes well with anchovies on people's revolutionary songun pizza, besides "special meat". We do not have "special meat" on songun pizza because there is absolutely no cannibalism in the DPRK.
Now, when I say there is absolutely no cannibalism in the DPRK, I do of course mean there is a certain amount...
