Jackie Chan confesses of Korean love

JackiechanDuring a press conference at Seoul’s COEX on Thursday, Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan confessed that he had a Korean girlfriend for eight long years.

Asked by a reporter why he seems to have a particular fondness for the Land of the Morning Calm, Chan said that he has good feelings toward the country because he spent time here during the toughest and poorest period of his life. He said his girlfriend of eight years was a Korean, and they used to come back to Korea every year to spend the New Year… just the two of ‘em.

He added that his pleasant memories of Korea, which back then had a night-time curfew, would be with him forever. He also said his girlfriend from that time was now married and living well.

Oh, he also had some very nice things to say about actress/model Kim Hee-seon — who looks cute but possesses arguably the most annoying voice on the planet — and actor Choe Min-su, both of whom star in Chan’s upcoming film, The Myth.

My friends who bump into him in Hong Kong bars occasionally say he is a truly likable and down-to-earth guy.

He just opened up a Jackie Chan Restaurant here in Honolulu (Ala Moana Shopping Center). Dude’s a player. He’s undercover about it though.

There’s a couple of Jackie Chan dim sum restaurants in Seoul (that I know of) and they’re not bad–a little pricey, but it’s good to have a break from jajangmyon sometimes… ;)

Are you sure this wasn’t posted once before? I swear I remember seeing this exact same article on marmot a few months ago. Maybe it’s a ripple in the Matrix.

It’s true that Kim Hee Sun does have a high pitching voice, nonetheless, it is not even close to be most annoying voice in the world.. Lets just say her voice is very faminine..
She is one of the most famous and popular actresses in Korea..
She has been voted many times (even this year) as the most beautiful actress in Korea..

Mr. Yoroshiku.. you must be japanese.. how much do you actually know about kim hee sun.. calling her not the brightest bulb in the pack?

You.. bunch of ignorant folks.. Know other culture before you speak your mind.. and just for the record, korea is not a poor country .. it has the world’s 11th biggest economy and is the most wired country in the workd.. haha

    Sang Jin,

Why are you one of those who has to take any sort of criticism of things Korean personally? Damn that is so irritating. “You must be Japanese…”. Do you realize how ignorant YOU sound when you say something like that?

If I’m to believe my Korean friends (who, fortunately, reflect a far more flattering image of Korea than you do), Kim Hee Sun is not only one of the stupidest actresses in Korea, she’s also one of the least talented. I’ll give you this though, she is pretty. But that’s about it.
