Trackback spam monkeys

Seems I’ve drawn the attention of — get this — a spam ping/trackbacker. Reading through the WordPress forums, there does not appear to be a solution to this problem as of yet, although some are apparently working on one. Anyway, if you run a WordPress blog, it’s an issue that might be of interest to you. For now, the only thing you can do is disable trackback/pings. Relevant WP forum threads are:

1 DeadOnArIVAL January 6, 2005 at 10:12 am: I drew the ire of one of these things some months ago, resulting in upwards of 20-30 jibberish comment postings per day. I wish I could find the creator.
2 Simon January 6, 2005 at 2:32 pm: I’ve had the same. They change their IPs as well, which makes them damn tricky.
3 R. Elgin January 6, 2005 at 9:39 pm: Track the IPs and report them to the ISP. Sooner or later, you can nab them, providing your ISP is *not* Kornet.
