The Lost Nomad asked if marmots are nomadic, too. Well, I’m not sure about marmots in general, but this particular Marmot is, as you know, married to a Mongolian, and Mongolians are, after all, traditionally a nomadic people. So yes, perhaps I’m a nomad by marriage. Someone else pointed out that I change blogging addresses more than anyone in the blogosphere. I don’t think that’s true, but for those who are interested, the Marmot’s Hole has changed address a total of five times, not counting the gazillion or so different template changes the blog has suffered since it first began.
Marmot v1.0 (Blogspot)
Marmot v2.0 (Blog City)
Marmot v3.0 (Typepad)
Marmot v4.0 (Wordpress, and you’re lookin’ at it)
Marmot v5.0 (Headspin)
For what it’s worth, I think I’ll be sticking with this address. But you can never tell with nomads.

Marmot -
As a blogger myself with an interest for different engines, I am wondering what were your reasons for switching to v5 (which feature(s) it was that you wanted but lacked in WordPress). Can you also provide a comparison of your experiences using TypePad and WordPress?

Disregard my earlier post - The Marmot has decided to keep his previous address, after all.
I really like the format and layout of this one better. The newer one may have had more features, but this one just feels well… like home.
^ Me too. This layout seems more like the Marmot.
What exactly is stopping you from importing the archive of this site into the new blog engine and keeping it at the same URL? I imagine you could probably even set it up so the permalinks are kept intact and external links to your old posts will still work properly.

I’ll be staying here. As for v5.0, I will use it for purposes unrelated to this blog.
