Bad calls during the 2002 World Cup? I can’t believe it.
Say it ain’t so!

For those “goals”, by Italians and Spanish. You call those goals? Yeah, sure, they were goals because the South Korean players including the goalkeeper, gave up on the plays when the whistles went. If the whistle goes, you’re supposed to stop playing, not kick or head the ball into the net! You may argue if that the off side calls (thereby negating good chances to end the game for the Italians and Spanish) were bad calls, but calling them “goals” just
tells me whoever put that ranking up is talking out of their anal behinds.
i’d like to see who’s on this fifa panel that chose the rankings. wanna bet there are
a lot of spaniards and italiens doing the choosing? poor fricking losers. can’t believe
asians kick their maggot-infested cheese eating asses.

Umm, weren’t you the guy (gal, whatever) who called me racist a couple days ago? Now I’m really reporting you to Homeland Security
There may have been erroneous calls, but it is distortion to call them “disallowed goals” or “stolen goals.” I analyzed and argued these more than I would ever want to in 2002 so I won’t go into more details, but Morientes’ header, for example, was not a “disallowed goal.” The linesman’s flag was raised as soon as Joaquin made the cross and the whistle was blown when the ball was still high in the air. Maybe Morientes couldn’t react fast enough to stop heading the ball, but you can clearly see that the Korean goalkeeper ??´??´??? didn’t bother to try to catch it because the whistle had blown (and personally, having watched the slow-mo playback more than a dozen times, I say he would have definitely caught it had he tried, but that’s beside the point).
It’s all subjective, isn’t it? The BBC said the ref’s call on Morientes’ goal was “atrocious”: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport3/w.....060702.stm
And really, there were plenty of bad decisions to go around in 2002, not just involving Korea. I was working in FIFA headquarters at the time and it was the main topic of discussion (with the ticket foulup a close second).
‘guy, girl, whatever…’ michael
no, sir, i’m not a whatever. have you ever met a ‘whatever’ that could
speak english? as for my ‘racist’ comment, you’re right! you got me!
but you know what? that’s how we humans are; we can live with contradictions
though i try my best to expel sentiments that contradict my core.
