Go go geriatric googlemeisters!

My dad is 63, and I love the man dearly, but he is not the most computer savvy person on this earth. I understand that - I am sure that in time there will be machines that I will not know how to use but every 4-year-old will. Being a child of the computer/VCR/microwave generation, I often come to expect that everyone with an e-mail address is under the age of 50. This is, of course, to assume things, which they say makes an ass out of you and me (but mostly me). Therefore it is good to have these prejudices challenged occasionally, such as when I saw this little gem of an article in the Korea Times, (also in the English version of JoongAng Daily but I couldn’t locate the pictures on the web). The Korea Times called the event “an online exam to test [senior citizens'] computer skills” but the JoongAng says it was a “web-searching contest”. Perhaps there were two different events. What do older Koreans use the internet for? The stories were really just captions so there was no detail, but I’d love to see some stats on whether they use it for communication, news, entertainment, gambling or something else.
