We are experiencing technical difficulties

Funny things appear to be going on with my website. Since about 2:00 p.m., I haven’t been able to connect to it at the Chosun, and it wasn’t working when I got home. A friend of mine at OhMyNews was able to connect normally, while Simon in Hong Kong sent me an email telling me it wouldn’t load where he was. Strangely enough, the Kimchi GI was able to access the site in Pyeongtaek — the IT Hub of Northeast Asia. Anyway, an hour ago, I finally got access back, only to see it cut off again. My service provider in Utah says eveything’s fine from where they’re sitting, so at this point, fucked if I know what the hell is going on. Someone suggested it MIC might be reacting to the Chosun/Dong-A running front-page pieces on the 40+ North Korean websites floating around cyberspace, but I haven’t heard/read anything that would suggest this is the case. Someone else suggested that Chinese Netizens might be having fun with me — one of my posts on Gando got linked on an English-language Chinese BBS today, but again, I haven’t gotten any unusual traffic from the PRC, so I have no reason to suspect foul play from the Middle Kingdom, either. If it helps anyone figure out what’s going on, my test blog at http://www.marmot.cc/wordpress is working fine. Anyway, if access is a bit erratic, don’t be alarmed (or celebrate, depending on what you think of this site) — I’m sure I’ll get to the bottom of this eventually.

I couldn’t get to your site starting sometime yesterday after lunch but it started working fine again around 3 or so.

As I said, the problem was different from a blocked sire: when asking for the pseudo-subdomain “blog.marmot.cc” I got — and I’m sure I am not the only one — a “domain unknown” error, which seems to point towards a DNS problem. Especially since marmot.cc was available all the time… The Utahans may think everything is hunky dory from where they sit — which sould be bloody expected — but it doesn’t mean their DNS server ain’t broke…

Oddly, I presently cannot directly access your blog, but I can get here by going through posts on Oranckay and Flying Yangban that link to your archive section, then clicking on your banner to return ‘home’. I thought I might just have good timing, but I tried again and it’s only access to the home address that’s having trouble.

I couldn’t get access either, Marmot. Do they have a “MIC” on Coconut Islands or Utah?

The good news is it seems to be loading fine for me today.

I couldn’t get in for 24 hours + in San Diego or LA, so I doubt it’s the MIC if your site is hosted in Utah.

Yeah, it wasn’t MIC. It was my web hoster, which experienced some sort of major foul up during the weekend. Things seem relatively back to normal now. Let’s hope it stays that way.

I couldn’t gain access for a few days. I was actually wondering if the U.S. Homeland Security (or is it Commerce?) Dep’t had borrowed a few pages off the MIC and implemented their own ban of anarchistic websites that dare to denounce Abraham Lincoln as a human rights violator!

I couldn’t access your site from Canada either. Now I can. It’s definitely a system glitch somewhere.

Couldn’t access your site yesterday from Germany.
A few days ago I had to ask dda for help to read your posts. He has a temporary solution here. Though the comment section is not accessable through his link (it would be sometimes a good feature for flame wars at Marmot’s ;))
