North Korean defectors/Russian social culture

Andrei Lankov has a pretty interesting piece in the KT on how the influx of defectors into South Korea (and the tales they bring with them) is making it increasingly difficult to dismiss reports of terror in North Korea. Definitely something you’ll want to check out.

Meanwhile, I found this piece on Russia’s culture of contempt by Nina Khrushcheva — Nikita’s granddaughter — kind of amusing.
