Netizens shut down Chinese Foreign Ministry, People’s Daily websites

The “2nd Ulchi Mundeok Project E-Click Movement” was able to temporarily shut down the websites of the Chinese Foreign Ministry and People’s Daily on Thursday morning by bombarding their servers with traffic. The “cyber-demonstration” was in protest of Chinese distortions of the history of the ancient Korean kingdom of Koguryo. An official with today’s project said tens of thousands of Korean Internet users participated, and the attack was planned to show a Chinese government that “hardly bats an eye no matter how much we protest its historical distortions” the strength of Koreans’ purpose.
