Crab season is still crab season:
South Korea’s navy fired warning shots at a North Korea patrol boat Wednesday after it crossed the disputed maritime border on the West Sea, Seoul’s military said.
The North Korean vessel retreated and there were no further hostile exchanges between the two sides, the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said.
It was North Korea’s first violation of the Northern Limit Line since June 15, when the navies of the two Koreas activated a hot line to prevent accidental military clashes.
The patrol boat intruded 0.7 mile into southern waters along the disputed western sea border shortly before 5 p.m. After issuing a warning, a South Korean navy speedboat fired two shots and the North Korean boat return to its territory 14 minutes later.
“This appeared to be an accidental intrusion because four Chinese boats were fishing in North Korean waters at that,” a JCS official said.
Accidental, indeed.

At least they had the attitude to take 14 minutes to get back over.
All Ego!
Just curious, but how would the North Koreans be aware that they had penetrated .7 miles past the maritime border?
Uhh, sailors who patrol that route for years know what theyre doing. You can work it out with pen and paper … simple longitude and latitude. They are clearly probing SK’s resolve as they have done for the past 50 years.
