Dude, you need to get laid

Jin over at the truly riotous What If I Stumble? (check out some of his past highlights as noted on his sidebar) has characterizes this blog as “I’m-an-American-in-Korea-so-worship-me whining.” I ask, as opposed to what? The obnoxious drivel of an apparently socially inept, racist (best to check the comments section of this post at Ruminations), sexist Korean-American Jesus freak with women problems who’d ordinarily be hanging around Apgujeong-dong (den of evil that it is) flashing his U.S. passport around trying to impress the ladies if he thought he had even the slightest chance in Hell of scoring? God. And BTW, with this link, I’m doing you a favor — your blog should reach its daily average of hits a day (24) within the hour.

And just because I’m curious, could you even read the cartoon I linked to? Or had any clue as to what it was about (other than it involved “Americans” and “Korean girls”)?

And notice how I trackbacked.

When are they going to learn that even without trackbacks most statistics programs will tell you where people are coming from.

What did Jin do to you? I couldn’t find out from the links. A good generalizaiton of US Koreans there. Kind of caustic, though.

WSK — Judging from some of stuff he’s written on his blog and on or about some other individuals’ blogs, Jin is NOT a good generalization of U.S. Koreans here. Most U.S. Koreans I have met here are like most people I meet — exceedingly cool. Jin simply has issues with “skanky women” and “lustful, predatory foreigners.” And yes, what I wrote was caustic, but no where near the kind of nasty little attack he launched on Jeff in Pusan a couple of weeks ago, and if he wants to suggest that I think Koreans should worship me because I’m an American in Korea (and then not even trackback to tell me), he should be prepared to take a little abuse in return.

Besides, its been a LONG two days over at Chosun.com with the kidnapping and all, and I’m not in the best of humor.

LOL, man, I haven’t taken a close look at his site yet so I don’t know if he deserves it or not, but you’re really giving that poor fellow a good thrashing! Compared to the huge popularity and readership of your site, that dude’s blog seems to me like a small-town mom-and-pop store getting beaten down by some big-ass corporation like Walmart. “??¼?²Œ?°±?³?”??¼?³?, let this be an example to all other bloggers that you just don’t mess with the Marmot!

By the way, by “U.S. Koreans” you mean “Americans in Korea?”

The referrer log there says that 90 out of the last 100 referrals to his site (in other words, the last four days’ worth) are from the Marmot.

You’re too kind to link to him Marmot.

Anyway, I noticed on one of his posts he’s been kicked off a few Christian blog lists. He tries to justify this (something about he refuses to be a “koolaid Christian”)but I think the true answer is his blog is just boring as hell.

Yeah, I almost (operative word) feel bad for picking on the guy, but he started it. And this isn’t the first time he’s made a snide personal attack on another blogger (admitedly, his previous one was MUCH worse). He apparently likes the attention, and being a generous guy, I’m happy to give it to him.

BTW, when WJK referred to “US KOreans,” I think he was referring to Korean-Americans.

Looking through some of the stuff that guy’s posted, without a doubt that guy has serious issues. Religious, personal, racial - you name it, they seem to be there. (Of course we all do, yet we all don’t find the need to deal with them by choosing to attack other people.)

Marmot, I think you’re right- this guy just seems to be a really lonely guy who is in need of serious attention, and as mom used to say he doesn’t know the difference between good attention and bad attention so he takes what comes easiest. Here’s hoping he gets some of the help he obviously needs with minimal damage to everyone involved.

I have about as much use for Jesus freaks as Arab terrorists. Fanatics are fanatics, all cut from the same cloth, trying to use their dogma to justify violently forcing their ideaology on others. One and the same

    Kimchipig,

I’ll take a “Jesus freak” over an Arab terrorist, anytime, since I have not seen any Jesus freaks cutting off people’s heads on video.

By the way, I think there are bigger fish to fry, Marmot.

Well, Gerry, not to start a needless flame war over who is the most intolerant, but there are a few doctors, shot because they perform abortions, who would probably disagree with you.

Sad timing for that comment, too… news just broke of Kim Seon-il.

Huh, and when we trace back the bloody 2 millenia old history of Christianity (Protestants and Catholics alike), the mere difference of Christian fanatics and fundamentalist to their Islamic counterparts would be, that they didn’t have modern video equipment then. Thank God (Allah or Jehova) I’m an atheist, I only worship my TV set and my fridge.

No deity, no cry! (Sorry, Bob Marley.)

Mr. Sugar Shin, Christians don’t believe they will have sex with 1000 virgins provided by God when they kill the unbelievers.

I was about to search through the Koran for your benefit, but it’s a big book. So, whenever I find such a verse, I will quote exactly where I found it. I already know there is no such verse in the Bibles used by Protestants or Catholics.

Oh, come on, WJK, the Bible is full of equally dubious passages. Killing witches, selling daughters, stonings… the old perfect wife of Proverbs was particularly charming. Don’t make me dust off my Bible just to make that elementary of a point. Especially since we are moving so far from the point of this blog entry.

haisan - Followers of the Bible in 2004 don’t use the Bible as an excuse/cover to behead Koreans, hijack-then-crash airplanes, attack US Marine barracks, attack US Navy ships, etc. But a notable group of followers of Islam in 2004 do use the relevant religious cover to do so.

As for the original point of the post, the kid-who-can’t-get-laid doesn’t realize that folks leave him because he isn’t trying to improve. His whining about being ‘fallen’/having-a-bad-day doesn’t apply. He is in the midst of a bad stretch - and he isn’t working to correct his situation.

Once he stops his whining and starts working, then he will be accepted back to the flock.
