hi!
marmot!
this might be silly suggestion
but i think "naver.com" has many korean bloggers so i clicked ??흹??짯 and i could find 1140-50 blogs about this subject and i think sending e-mail to these people might be good idea because many koreans are interested in learning english and like to inform of korea to other people so they'll like your site.
e-mail could be good like "send any good subject about korea to your e-mail or that site direct(in case they can translate it)

Seconding oranckay, a background banner is in order to set the tone, maybe rotate images like Shilla jewelry, celadon ceramics, city scenes, mountains, so on. And please ditch the melting flag.

I agree the distorted flag will have to go if part of the purpose is to attract Koreans. If we only want foreigners then I would say keep it.

Looks good so far and I'm looking forward to the official launch.

Ah, well, I like the ??흹?쨌쨔?쨍째. But then, I'm not Korean. I also have no desire to engage the Korean press over it.

The distorted (and ugly) taegukgi-pic will scare off many offended
Korean readers. This would be very counterproductive, wouldn't it?

The distorted taegeukgi is going to offend someone in the Korean press.

Also, how about a background gif? There's mine:
<a href="http://oranckay.net/blog//pics/bg1.gif" rel="nofollow">http://oranckay.net/blog//pics/bg1.gif</a>
and many similar Korean-looking designs that might be worth trying, if we look around enough on Korean pages about things Korean.

I myself would prefer something that looks Korean to Koreans, instead of the usual taegeuk/peninsula theme that many in distant lands often think of first.

But that's just me.
