Let me second Kirk’s praise of the Flying Yangban’s election coverage. It’s outstanding.
BTW, I linked to it in my previous post on Josh Marshall, but in case you didn’t see it, you might want to check out the map on Andy’s blog if you’d like some pretty dramatic visual evidence of Korean regionalism at its finest. However, taking the taxi home today, I overheard on the radio that a number of the races in South Gyeongsang Province were pretty tight, and the Uri Party drew over 30 percent of the province’s total vote. Even in North Gyeongsang Province, the Uri Party drew over 20 percent; that represents a marked improvement over previous years. I’ll try to track down actual stats in written form later. I’m also curious as to what extent the DLP played Nader in South Gyeongsang Province; I’d imagine they must have handed the GNP at least a district or two, but I haven’t seen any stories on it yet, so research I must do.

Though hardly a “landslide” there will be some interesting developments in Korean politics. However, soon it will be apparent that the Dear Leader Party will be just as corrupt as Hannara-dang ever was. Added to the mix it will sell SK to the Norks.
