Apparently, the immigration department decided to import a couple of model “net guns” (I don’t know what they are actually called) earlier this month for use in catching illegal immigrants. The justice ministry (to whom the immigration department is attached) is having second thought about this, however, as civic groups have pointed out that the use of such devices against illegal aliens might constitute a violation of human rights.
