    Very simple. Unlike other countries, with a possible exception of SBS, South Korean broadcasting companies are either unabashedly state-run, or practically so. (Noting that SBS’s owned by a construction company which in Korea, has to cater to the government’s favor to win contracts, many even go as far as to claim that there is no private braodcasting company!)

    Given that, in my view at least, one can call for the TV’s coverage of political affairs being impartial. I guess few level-headed citizens want to pay tax to see that it ends up being used to propagandize a poitical camp’s position 24/7.
