Hey Marmot,

That gives me an idea. Why don't we have a blogger mock election on April first. Each of us could make a useless endorsement of out favorite Korean political party.

I think it would be interesting to see how we react when actually have to support something instead of just ripping these parties a new one.

I don't know anyone is actually a fan of any of these parties. Does anyone actually say "Hey, I like the _______ (OOP, GNP, MDP, ULD, etc.)" What would happen if we had to make a choice and say "These guys should be in charge of the national assembly."

Just an idea. Will anyone bite?

Of course the Dear Leader does not want to see Comrade Noh gone; as long as he is there the money will flow from South to North with no strings attached. Further, Comrade Noh will continue to allow the Dear Leader's people to be placed in postions of power in the South.

I also disagree with you, honourable Marmot; Comrade Roh is every bit as corrupt and dishonest as any GNP politican. He has just not managed to divert 100% of the flow of cash and perks away from the GNP to himself and the Dear Leader, oops, Kwang-ju, oops, Uri Party. What is more, Comrade Roh is so obsessed with getting that loot and passing it to the Dear Leader and his party in the South that he is neglecting the economy.

However, I do not think that Comrade Roh should be impeached. Every people get the leader they deserve. In this case a mob that thought Comrade Roh was the Messiah has to learn that the rhetoric that got Comrade Roh elected in the first place is dangerous in the extreme.

What I disagreed with was the characterization of Korea as a nation of pervasive lawlessness and calling Roh just as corrupt (if not more corrupt) as his predecessors. I happened to agree that Roh needs to respect the election board decision (even if the board made a questionable decision based on a stupid law), but he's no Chun Doo-hwan or Roh Tae-woo. Or even a Kim Young-sam, for that matter.

You seem to be suggesting I think Roh should be impeached. Actually, I am not in favor of the idea. I disagree with Roh's actions, but I never said he should be impeached. As I stated, those who want him impeached are no better and are being quite hypocritical. My point is that laws should be respected--particularly if one is the President. If no law was violated, Roh is still a poor communicator; he has not made a convincing case that he did nothing wrong. The way all the papers are reporting it, it looks like he broke the law.
