Three new blogs added to my Asia Blog List. Firstly, I got an e-mail alerting me to The Unbearable Lightness of Beijing, maintained by a one Kaiser Guo, a Chinese-American rock musician/writer in Beijing. Definitely a fascinating read.
And there’s Kyushu Journal, run by translator and shakuhachi-master Zachary Braverman in Kyushu, Japan. Interesting stuff, and you gotta love a blog with the slogan, sonno-joi.
Then there’s the Shanghai-based expat blog Fried Man - a most unique publication indeed.
Oh, and while I’m at it, check out Jeon Woojay’s Blog of the Pythi Master — I link to a ton of blogs from expat Americans in Korea, so now do yourself a favor and read a a blog from an expat Korean in the United States.
And those with an interest in linguistics should stop by Blinger: A linguistics and ESL blog

Thank-you for the link. I really would never have expected it here as I don’t write about Korea or asia in general.
Was alarmed by the sudden wave of referrals from your site, and found this. Replied to your e-mail on my blog. Cheers.
Thanks for putting me on your blog roll. I appreciate the vote of confidence.
Unfortunately I can’t reciprocate - you’re already on mine.
Gotta love the intellectual honesty and emotional openness of Woojay. That’s a fine blog.
Thanks for the link.
As for Son-no joh-i, I tried to start a “Son-no Joh-i” club but no one was interested. Wonder why…?
Also, it’s funny that you put a link to shakuhachi.com up there. I’ve actually translated a lot of material for things sold on that site. Instructions and the like. As far as I know, I’m the only professional translator who’s also a shakuhachi player…
