    An excellent author on Central Asia and the Great Game was Arminius Vambery. I can’t remember the title but he was a Hungarian linguist who pretended to be a Muslim while travelling through Central Asia and the Middle East. I think he travelled through the region in the late 19th Century early 20th Century. If anyone can find anything by him I’ll pay top dollar for his books. Definitely a must-read!
