Lee Sa-bi, who was selected to be Korea’s “first” Playboy model, was apparently the target of a seduction attempt by none other than Hollywood actor and former New Kid on the Block Mark Wahlberg. I shit you not — if it’s in the Sports Chosun, it’s got to be true. Anyway, in an interview with the illustrious sports daily, Lee confessed that Marky Mark tried to pick her up at a 2001 party in Paris. Ahh, the City of Love. Anyway, to read her side of this tale, when she was introduced to Wahlberg at this party, he immediately become interested in her, asking her all sorts of question about where she was from and so on. Anyway, having been a big fan of New Kids on the Block (hey, nobody’s perfect), Lee was glad to have met the guy, and they spent some time together at the party. But when it came time to go home, he asked her if they could meet for lunch the next day. At this point, she came up an excuse why she couldn’t, and she never met him again.
Lee goes on to say she learned from a friend that Marky Mark has a thing for Asian women, which might surprise some, because didn’t he spend some time in jail for beating the crap out of some poor Vietnamese guy up in Boston? Anyway, she said, he was shorter in real life than she previously imagined, and she didn’t find him all that attractive.
Apparently, short guys need not apply.
She also said she received a casting offer in a movie opposite French star Vincent Cassel, but because of home sickness and a lack of confidence in the French language, she simply returned to Korea.

Just to clarify, Marky Mark fronted the group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. They had a big hit in the early 90s called “Good Vibrations” His brother, Donnie Wahlberg, was a member of New Kids on the Block.

Call me picky (about whatever-her-name-is), but she’s too damn thin. Oh, (of course) I’d jump for joy if she (never happen) left the bar with me, but if in some wierd bizarro world I had to choose between her and another girl half as good looking as her, but with more thickness I wouldn’t think twice about passing her by.

What the heck is with these Korean actresses reluctant or not picking up these jobs at all which could really turn their career? I know from a friend that the woman in The Accidental Spy with Jackie Chan almost turned down the role but thankfully she went for it.
And thankfully Lee Sa-bi looks better in that picture than she does in the previous picture you posted of her.

Oh and this might be an interesting tangent to the conversation, but what is the thinking towards white guys that happen to like Asian women? I’m apart of that group but not because of some dumb stereotype. And if I try explaining it on a comment section I know I’ll be misconstrued somewhere or other.
Either way it seems Lee Sa-bi was turned off by what she had heard about Walhberg and his tastes so I wonder if that is indicitive of a larger mentality…

I am a guy and I will be prone to enjoying pictures of attractive women. It’s hardwired. I can’t help it. But I certainly don’t fit the mold of one poisoning and oogling.
Oh and btw Sally, most guys here said they didn’t find Sa-bi attractive. Hardly oogling in my opinion.

Since time unknown, women spend ages trying to look beautiful. But when men appreciate them, and now can do so via pictures on internet, some get pissed.
