I'm assuming we're talking about 300,000 won a month not 300 won a month. I shop almost exclusively at Carrefour (not for much longer though) and 300,000 is a stretch to reach, booze not included, and for one person at that. I haven't noticed anything unusual, then again I'm a bachelor so I wouldn't notice.

Can anyone give me an idea of what the price fluctuations have been like lately?

I would donate to that fund! We drop 300 on a trip to Costco, a week! I have to add that that includes wine and a bit of the Barleycorn!

Three hundred won a month? What a deal!

Hey, we're only spending for two, food prices are lower in the Cholla Provinces, and I'm a cheap bastard out of necessity. And W300 a month is still way too high given what they could be if consumer choice were actually possible.

In my family of four, we am spending AT LEAST W500k a month on groceries, all in the name of protecting a few farmers who could be producing crops that people ACTUALLY want instead of rice that sits in warehouses.

Closet thing we have here currently is a grocery workers union strike going on. In fact it has been going on for about two months almost and not a bit of daylight yet. Needless to say it has cause prices round here to go up and quality to go down as there is an influx of customers to non union and union with new contract stores. Not really the same thing but still a pain in the butt nonetheless.
