Well, to put it briefly, Hussein’s arrest has nothing to do with the injustice of the Iraq invasion, it will not lead to a weakening of “resistance forces” in Iraq, nor will it lead to a decrease in anti-American sentiment in Iraq and the Arab world. It will, on the other hand, lead to louder calls for an American withdrawal from the country, as the continued deployment of large numbers of American troops in Iraq after the arrest will only show America’s imperialist ambitions.
The Hankyoreh’s answer? Sit down for this - the US must turn over responsibility for Iraq’s security and reconstruction to the UN, while at the same time withdrawing its forces from the country. It also recommended that Hussein be turned over to an international body like the UN for judgment, and cautioned Bush not to miss this last chance to honorably pull out from Iraq.
I think it was the Oranckay that discussed the Hani’s drug testing policy…

Can anybody imagine a Korean newspaper writing that one of its own tyrants should be turned over to an internetional tribunal — if it had a situation like in Iraq?
I mean, can you imagine a Korean paper allowing such an “interference” in its “domestic affairs”? I can’t….
Or obvious lack of a drug testing policy….
At first I’m agreeing with uninkorea, but as I think about it, I imagine KJI would be much easier tried in such a format than under laws of a fully reunified ROK. Sadly, he has more support in SK than Hussein does in Iraq.
Who knows.
After 50 years, isn’t it high time that the UN took over security for South Korea? Replace USFK with Malay and Pak troops. I’m sure Koreans will sleep much better. The US has better uses for our troops than to be stuck in Korea.
