Just finished work on the Winds of Change Korea Briefing for this month - it should be up either tomorrow or the next day. Anyway, it was quite a bit of work, I’m tired as hell, and I want to go home to my loving yurt person who may or may not have something on the stove. So, if I may, I’ll leave you with a couple of links and call it a day.
- Kevin at IA links to a couple of MUST READ pieces concerning North Korean diplomacy.
- Also brought to you by IA, THIS MONSTROSITY.
- Hey, Ian’s staying in Korea for another year!
- The Flying Yangban discusses China and Taiwan.
- The Big Ho links to a number of his best essays - for those who haven’t followed his blog for long, run over there and check out why he’s one of the best essayists in Asia.
- For the Korean-literate, two OhMyNews pieces I e-mailed myself: the first on that kid who spent six-months at hope watching over his dead mother’s decomposing corpse, while the second discusses the American troop redeployments in South Korea and the problems associated with them - the final section, entitled “They came and went in accordance with their own needs… ‘They do what they please’ USFK: The 58 Year History of USFK Deployments and Withdrawals,” is none too complimentary of the United States (and insufferably whiny), but still rather interesting to read as it gives you a much different take on things than you’ll read in the Western press.
UPDATE: Korean engineers in Iraq revolt, kidnap bosses, and demand to leave the country - see IA or the Oranckay for the details.
