Oh no, not her/him/it!

Judging from recent posts over at Brainysmurf, The Gweilo Diaries, and Peking Duck, it would seem that the China bloggers have finally discovered Ha Ri-su. Being, as it would appear, the Infidel-anointed tabloid poster/smut peddler of the Korea bloggers, I figure it’s my responsibility to link to this gallery, which includes some topless shots. Enjoy.

PS: Adam, last time I checked (like in, last I read, dda), Ha Ri-su is no longer “a guy,” anatomically speaking. And as dda points out in the comments section, the Republic of Korea now legally recognizes her as a woman.

Be careful of the cultural conservatives and the Confederate-flag-waving, married white men of the American blogosphere! Ha might get attention in China, but a South Korean man needs to do more than express his inner femininity or hit 56 home runs to get to the big show. Perhaps she can plug civil unions, unless she actually believes she can rich as a post-operative transsexual in a misogynistic and racist paradise, but she had better stay clear of the Deep South. I do find it fitting it takes sexual reassignment surgery for a Korean man to become a star in this region, though.

I retract my anointing….you just use graphics way too sinisterly for a pedantic philistine like me!

Does that mean you didn’t like the pics, Infidel? I mean, she’s got a decent enough rack for an ex-man.

Hmmmm, the world is turning upside down….

Anyone know what a proper Christian’s perspective of that would be? Because I am at a loss for words.

Seems like he/she’s lost something else too: His/Her name….

    (from GayoNews http://www.gayonews.com/)

Harisu will no longer be Harisu

Popular transgender gasoo, Harisu, signed a contract with TTM Entertainment on the 15th of October. As a result of the contract, she will no longer be using ‘Harisu’ as her stage name, and she decided to use ‘Risu’ from now on. Her name ‘Harisu’ was used because she is the first transgender to debut as a gasoo, and her controversial story was a hot issue at that time. Koreans slurred ‘hot issue’ into ‘Harisu’, hence she used it as her stage name. On December 2001, she corrected her distinction of sex at the family registrar, and put ‘Lee Kyung Eun’ as her name while she received official recognition as a woman.

And Especially for Mike over at SEB (Also from GayoNews http://www.gayonews.com/):

Second Harisu to debut next year

TTM Entertainment, who just made a contract with Harisu on the 15th of October, is also planning to release the ‘2nd Harisu’. Her name is Jennifer Young Whisnuh (19), who is half Korean (mother) and half Caucasian (father). TTM stated on the 16th, “with her 167 cm height, european image, sensitivity tone quality, heavenly expression and her fluent english, we are planning to make her an international star as well as in Korea.” TTM is planing to release Jennifer about next year to avoid confusion with the “1st Harisu” Lee Kyung Eun.

TTM also explained, “Since Harisu was a hot issue when she debuted, we are planning to give our new singers stardom with the name of 2nd Harisu, etc. We’re not gonna localize the name Harisu but our next stars that we produce are gonna come out with name ‘2nd Harisu’, ‘3rd Harisu’ and so on.”

However, the fans’ opinions seem to differ. Some of them had mistakenly thought Jennifer is another transgender who is trying to debut as a gasoo because of the title ‘2nd Harisu’. The fans also think that giving newcomers titles such as ‘2nd Harisu’ will not be help the artist to automatically gain fame and popularity.

I guess Koreans have to franchise everything, including names…Hope Prince (yes he’s using his name again) dosen’t hear about this one….

Does this mean horny company execs are letting themselves express their homoerotic urges by trolling for pre-operative eunuchs who can match Lee Kyung-eun’s marketability? Oh, wait until prepubescent girls hear of this latest hurdle to overcome? With modern medicine and enough cash, now Korean men can make their own fantasies and forget biologically-unaltered women.

Lee’s beauty is only skin-deep. I also wonder how many execs it took, or beauty salon and porn mags, for her to choose her new body. I’m sure this kind of racket is as old as the world’s oldest profession, and Lee’s struggle is genuine, but I find her example as troubling an issue as cloning or even simple cosmetic alteration. I’ll never knock a person’s desire to get rich, but when company execs are looking for ready-made talent, biologically-unaltered or altered, it’s just wrong. And, Korean music and tv has this taint already, in a manner even more perverse than any Hollywood casting couch in the pre-war days was. I’m waiting for South Korea’s first Buddy Holly and Billi Holiday.

    Infidel,
You seem to have a hatred towards Southerners. What’s the deal? Are you an ex-Southerner?

19 is way too young to be getting a sex change operation. He/She/It hasn’t had a chance to figure himself out yet. You can’t even buy a beer at 21.

Considering that the Korean judicial system used to determine sex by appealing to science(chromosome makeup), it is interesting to see that they now determine it by appearance. Just wonder what happens when all that plastic surgery out over time and the negative effects of all those hormones kick in. She/He/It is going to end up doing what? Wearing ajuma pants and an ugly sleeveless sweater and selling carrots in the market?

I don’t think the Big Hominid is capable of offering a proper Christian perspective. All it takes is a single sheep-humping session to alter, fundamentally, one’s interpretation of the phrase “Lamb of God.”

For what it’s worth, here’s a poem in support of The One Formerly Known as Harisu:

(to the tune of the hymn “All Things Bright and Beautiful”)

    All those tits and testicles,
    Be they great or small,
    All things penile, labial–
The Lord God made them all.

    Each little snatch that opens,
    Each hairy dong that swings,
    God loves us despite surgery
When we cut off our things.

In the name of Allah, compassionate and merciful,

    Kevin

I think we can agree that that perspective, considering the topic, is wonderfully apt.
