Let me take a break from CNC Generals (just took out Dr. Thrax, gotta give Gen. Granger his now) to point out this great post over at IA - Kevin smells a deal with the Norks in the works, and he senses the PR work has already begun. Just a snippet:
Not once in those 3 years did I see quotes from a US official downplaying that threat or even questioning the existence of that uranium program. The only question that was asked was not if the uranium program existed, but only where it was and how advanced was it.
Of course the Korean media downplayed the threat daily, but that’s to be expected. They’ll pay any price and accept any lie to avoid a military confrontation on the Peninsula. But nowhere in the American media did I see anyone even attempt to claim that the uranium program may have been a big bluff and that North Korea’s nuclear program was in fact not really as big a problem as we were being led to believe. Until today.
The question I ask now is, why? Why now and for what purpose?
Great post that deserves your attention. Now, I return to Generals…
PS: Oh, and if you’re not busy, Seeing Eye Blog has some pretty good posts up today, although I have to confess that today’s Half Korean of the Day is a bit frightening.
