KEDO has reportedly decided to suspend for a year construction work on the two light-water reactors being built in North Korea as part of the 1994 Agreed Framework. Of course, one might ask, who the fuck would want to keep the project going when the North Koreans have shown no inclination what so ever of living up to their end of the bargain? Why, the South Koreans, of course! From the KT:
Seoul, however, has hoped the project would remain afloat, noting that termination would only exacerbate the security situation on the Korean peninsula, provoking the North Korean regime to adopt a harder line.
Seoul officials expressed concern regarding the potential for a negative reaction from North Korea and the adverse effect that will have on the resumption of six-way talks over the North’s nuclear weapons program.
Don’t worry about me… I’m used to it this sort of fecklessness.

Seoul has a point. This may upset North Korea. So it’s absolutely unthinkable.
