University students in Xi’an are currently in lock down: they have been quarantined in their dormitories and those students caught outside campus at the time of the lock down are being brought back to their dormitories.
Last night, there were demonstrations held around the Bell Tower. Today there were/are demonstrations by Northwest Polytechnic University students near the zoo.
At a party at Northwest University to welcome this year’s freshmen, four Japanese, one teacher and three students, insulted China. At the party they performed a blue dance and made the mistake of wearing shirts with “Zhongguoren” (Chinese people) on them. None of the Chinese in the audience took the insult kindly. The four Japanese then promptly had the shit beaten out of them by a group of Chinese.
Xi’an area universities will be having class this weekend to insure that no students will have the time to continue having demonstrations demanding that the Japanese apologize to China. Apparently, beating the hell out of them was not enough.
What’s even better is the fuller description of the offending Japanese given by Andres in the comments section:
Apparently, one of the Japanese students was a female who was wearing the Chinese flag on her ass. The others were wearing shirts with big penises on the front and when they turned around there was “What are you looking at you Chinese?” written on their backs. This was apparently organized by the Foreign Languages Department of Northwest University. It makes you wonder, was anyone who participated or organized this “welcoming” activity for freshmen thinking at the time?
