Yonhap News (Korean) is reporting that the North Koreans are dropping their demands for a bilateral nonaggression pact with the United States. The ubiquitous nameless source - this time one familiar with US-DPRK relations - claims that the North said that it will not stick to demands for a nonaggression pact during a meeting with American officials last week in New York. What was not made clear, however, was what just what kind of security agreement they would like instead. Anyway, this could all be horseshit, and we’d best wait until we hear something official coming from Pyongyang (and even then it might still very will be horseshit).
