That’s all I can say about Dr. Lee Keun-yeup after this Korea Times abomination:
North Korea seems to have survived the harsh ordeals: the famine caused by natural calamities, loss of economic ties with the Soviet Union and the former Communist countries, and Kim Il-sung’s death in the face of decades of the U.S. trade embargo, the nuclear stand-off, and the endless subversion plots from outside in the name of human rights. North Korea is a phoenix?
Cuban Premier Fidel Castro in his new year’s statement in 2000 said, “We are marching for a world free of hypocrisy.”
No more mention of North Korea’s unverified cannibalisms. No need to climb up Mount Olympus to finger-feel the wall of the temple of Apollo for the inscription, “gnoti ceauton”. One line here is enough, “Know yourself”
I promised myself, on advice from a fellow blogger, to stop reading Korea Times and Korea Herald editorials. But this… this is too putrid an abortion to avoid comment. At least I can console myself with the knowledge that a) Lee’s views are repulsive not only to myself, but to the overwhelming majority of citizens in this free republic, and b) his day of atonement will come. When unification comes, you’d better stay in Vietnam, safe from the victims of the crimes for which you offer such fine apologia.
Read the rest of the piece on your own (warning: it reads better if you light up a joint first), if for no other reason to see what truly atrocious writing looks like. Absolutely horrifying.

Oh my God! What is it about the KOrea Times and weakness for psychobabble? There are nutcases and there are NUTCASES and then there is Lee Keun-yeup! I have had LSD flashbacks that are more coherent than that screed!
