A teacher in Japan is being sued by a counsel of 503 lawyers for abusing a nine-year-old student for being of American descent and suggesting that he commit suicide, according to news reports on Thursday.
The 46-year-old teacher, who knew the student’s great-grandfather was American, allegedly told him: “You have filthy blood. Go jump off from your condo building and die.”
Later in the same piece:
According to the suit the teacher, now suspended, repeatedly suggested that the boy kill himself between May and June. The student also suffered a broken nose and teeth as a result of beatings from the teacher.
According to the boy’s lawyer he suffers from twitches and nausea, and once said: “I’d like to have my blood replaced. I don’t see any sense in living.”
The punishment for this so far - a fuckin’ six month suspension. That’s it. Disgusting. But lest we go off on the Japanese too harshly, let it be known that Korean schools are not what we’d call “kind” to mixed-race children, either. That is, the mixed-race children that have yet to be exported sent abroad for adoption.

Well, that is extremely uncool, and shatters any illusions I had about Japan being more “civilized” than Korea.
For Christ’s sake! How in the world could anyone treat a child in that manner? You know the kid is going to be screwed up his entire life because of this shit. I hate these stories. They gnaw at me.
