Anti-Prostitution Campaign

Stop Sex Trafficking PamphletSince the topic of prostitution has been getting some Korea blogger attention lately, let me point Korean-literate readers in the direction of this OhMyNews piece on a signature campaign being conducted by HanSori in an effort to “make a world without sex trafficking.” They’re looking for a million signatures - at the time of my writing this, they have 8638, and if you like, you can offer your signature on-line. Hansori also made available for download a pamphlet on sex trafficking in Korea (including numbers of who you can contact for help), written in Korean, English, and Russian.

Let me just say for the record that I support both legalized prostitution and the free movement of labor, but slave trading is where I draw the line. And unfortunately, much of the cross-border sex trade in Korea resembles just that.
