About This Blog

About this blog:

This blog is currently the work of one full time and two part time bloggers residing in Korea. We deal almost exclusively with Korean issues, although we sometimes cover events in neighboring countries when we feel like it. Favored areas of discussion are North Korea, South Korea-U.S. relations, and Korean cultural news. We also post a lot of Korean tabloid crap (or at least I do), mostly because, well, it’s fun to read, and probably more productive than analyzing North Korean Foreign Ministry statements.

About the Marmot:

Just in case you were wondering who the heck the Marmot is, my name is Robert Koehler, and I’m a 29-year-old (as of 2004) translator for a major newspaper in Seoul, South Korea. I’m from Long Island, New York, and I’ve lived in Korea since 1997, mostly as an English teacher and a graduate student. I currently reside in Itaewon, Seoul with my wonderful and amazingly patient wife, Solongo, who for reasons completely beyond human understanding puts up with my blogging.
